There are many questions I get asked all the time, here are the answers to the most asked ones!

How should we prepare for our session?

This will look different for everyone and depends on the session type.

For Equines: A good rule of thumb is to treat your session as you would a show! make sure your bridle is clean, horse brushed, and hair braided if desired, clipped one week before if desired. Since I shoot using the barn alley or covered arena so make sure to sweep up the floor/clean up poop as the ground will be visible! if we are just doing portraits and no action shots and your horse is high energy you may want to ride or lunge them well beforehand.

For Pets: Make sure you have treats on hand, they are brushed and clean, if they are super high energy you may want to exercise them a bit before the session.

Can you edit this out?

I put a lot of time and work into each image so don't worry about pimples, scratches, bruises, scars, or other blemishes. I can and will edit all of that out free of charge!

However, as much as I may seem magical at Photoshop I can not clean a dirty animal or magically clip a horse's coat. And no I can't change your shoes, haha! I can do some more advanced editing upon request and at an additional retouching fee.

To avoid any unnecessary editing after the fact here is a short checklist to help out.....

make sure hair ties are off your wrist
bring a rag to clean off any dirt your pet may find
don't do any tanning beds or self-tan within the week of your session
you can use a little dab of eyelash glue to stick necklaces down in the right spot
if available bring a friend to help watch out for anything we can fix in the moment and to get the attention of your horse!

Are there travel fees?

Yes I do charge for travel for anywhere outside of a 50 mile radius of Great Falls MT. Travel fees vary depending on if I will have to fly or drive and any lodging that may be required.

A general idea is $1 per mile if driving

If you want to save on travel fees try seeing if any of your friends want sessions! Travel fees are waived for all parties if 5 sessions are booked within 3 days of each other in the same general area!

What sets your pet and equine photography apart from others?

My passion for animals and photography comes together in each session. I take the time to understand your pet or horse's personality and unique traits, allowing me to create images that truly capture their essence. My goal is to provide you with timeless and cherished memories that you can treasure for a lifetime.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

My turnaround time for delivering edited images is typically within 2-3 weeks. I want to ensure that each photo is meticulously edited to meet my quality standards.

What is your photography style?

My photography style for pet and equine sessions is a mix of candid and posed shots. I strive to capture the natural beauty and genuine personalities of the animals, while also guiding them into flattering poses to create stunning portraits. Once home I curate the best of the best and once you select your final images I spend time meticulously hand-editing each photo to the high quality possible while keeping the natural beauty of your and your pets

How do you handle pets and horses during the photo sessions?

During the sessions, I approach pets and horses with patience and care. I understand that they might feel a bit nervous or excited in a new environment, and around new people, so I take the time to let them get comfortable with me and my camera. Building a connection and using positive reinforcement helps in getting the best shots.
